The Wireless Planning and Coordination (WPC) Wing of the Ministry of Communications under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is the National Radio Regulatory Authority. WPC provides certification to sell, produce, and import wireless equipment. WPC certification is mandatory to sell or manufacture wireless equipment.
It is a mandatory certification for any wireless product, operating in delicensed frequency bands (license-free band) & falling in the free category of the EXIM policy of DGFT, to be deployed in India. The product must meet the limits specified for RF characteristics, bandwidth, emission, power etc. for which Radio Test report, accredited by a ILAC certified laboratory is required to be submitted. An Import License is also required post ETA Certification for importing into India.
